Western Washington is beautiful year round, but nothing beats the sunshine! Suddenly, our weekends are now filled with outdoor activities.
The fresh air is quite a relief after such a long and tiresome winter. I can almost taste the warmth that the sun will bring in only a few short weeks.
This past weekend, the Mr. and I hiked Wallace Falls, just off Highway 2 in Gold Bar. It was an absoultely gorgeous day. Wallace Falls is a fairly easy hike, just a few steep inclines, and if you only go to the lower falls, it's about 4 miles round trip. Or you can hike the extra mile up to the top of the waterfall for the full view!
From Mill Creek, it's about a 30-40 minute drive. If you're feeling adventerous, stop in Monroe or Snohomish for a greasy spoon breakfast, or bring your own picnic and take advantage of the great benches and picnic tables all along the trail.
